A Brief History of Abdomen: It was July of 1987 when the four founding members were sitting at Music in Plymouth and decided to become a band.  Oh, the excitement!  This was high school after all, and being in a band was a cool idea even though we had no idea what type of music we would create, but before we could officially make music, a band name was needed.

The fine points about how the name Abdomen was conjured while Chris and I drove north on Ferndale in my black 79' Ford LTD have been lost.  Still, I do remember an orange construction sign which read “men working in trees” and a mental image of red tied Reagan Republican businessmen up in those trees with their desks, phones, and file cabinets.  While we laughed at this and other figments of our comic minds were indulged, the band name A Bunch of Drunk Monkeys (ABODM) or simply Abdomen was born.

Many years have passed since our rude musical debut, and the four founding members have not played together in well over a decade.  Nevertheless, Abdomen has survived through a steady stream of guest stars -- roughly 27 people (if I didn’t forget anyone) who have participated in over 450 Abdomen songs since the release of our debut album back in December of 1988.

Although life is very busy with work and family, the writing and recording of music continues, albeit, at a much slower pace.  Call it what you will, this web page is dedicated to the past and the future of Abdomen.
